As always we have reviewed and updated the essential features of Redshift such as: catalogs, sky images, planetary data, sky rendering and several new guided tours. In addition we have introduced several new features:

General
  • New improved design, a significant acceleration of the program performance
  • New type of Solar System bodies: dwarf planets
  • More than 100,000,000 stars
  • More accurate calculation of visible coordinates of celestial bodies (incl. refraction effect)
  • 3D flight around our Galaxy
  • New Guided Tours

  • Observation Planner allowing you to refine your observation schedule for tonight

This screenshot captures the alignment of Mercury, Mars Jupiter and Venus. You can also see the sun among the planets. It is actually 11 am, but you can turn off the atmospheric effects in Redshift, allowing you to see stars and planets during daytime.
Here you can see the Andromeda Galaxy. It is easy to search for different objects in the sky. You can also pick them out of a list. Redshift automatically centers on the object and flies you there.
The planets are magnified so they appear closer to each other than they really are. You can see the surface features of the planets while still having an idea of their positional relationship. It allows to see a fascinating dance of the planets.
